How to Check Why PTCL internet Speed is Low and Fixed

PTCL is Pakistan internet Service Provider that Provides Internet to all Over Pakistan. It old company with low internet architecture. There are many connectivity issues. In this post, I will try to help you with how you can check to fix (troubleshoot) problems yourself. I have Divide this troubleshoot session into many steps.

Check  Cable :

                  The first step is to check your outdoor and indoor cable that is used to connect with the near PTCL port to your Modem. Make sure that there is no broken wire. if any piece of cable is broken then solder it properly or connect properly this joint by overlap solution tap. if your all cable are okey then move to the next step.

Check Splitter and modem :

            Now check your splitter and modem cable are properly connected with each other. if your Splitter is old, please upgrade your splitter. if your internet is properly connected but has a disconnect issue then change your modem or upgrade the firmware on the modem for best performance.

SNR Margin :

     Visit your PTCL home using IP Address (192.168.10.1/192.168.1.1). Then Click
 Advanced-Setting >> XDSL >> Satatices .This shows you the present Status of Your PTCL modem. Here Check your SNR Margin(0.1 dB ) downstream and upstream are 100db is bad, 200db or greater is good. If this is directly SNR margin is not in dB than it is in 10db is bad,20 or greater is good for best performance.

Change Internet Package :

            If your internet package is less than 6MB has more than 6 devices that used the internet then please change your internet on calling on 1218. or approach to near PTCL exchange.

Modem Usage Time:

                If your modem is stayed connected with the internet 24/7 then please make a timetable in which your PTCL gets rest gives 1-hour or 2-hours rest for proper work.

Call PTCL helpline: 

        if you are still facing an internet slow speed issue then call your PTCL helpline. In 24/48 hours they visited your home to check the problem
